Aluminium Secondary Glazing / Secondary Double Glazing
Secondary Glazing involves adding an extra slim-line window in addition
to your existing windows. Secondary glazing is designed to keep the
heat in and the noise out. You could also save around 10% on your
heating bills. Our Secondary Glazing is made from strong lightweight
aluminium so that the frames can be made very slim and discreet.
Secondary Glazing is perfect for use in Listed Buildings and
conservation areas. Adding secondary glazing is a cost effective and
reversible change that is recommended by English Heritage and the
Listed Property Owners Club. The Energy Saving Trust states that it is
'ideal solution if you are unable to fit double glazing'.
Secondary glazing should NOT easily be seen.

Help Me Choose
There are two considerations when choosing your secondary glazing:
Firstly - you need to look at the existing window and note how it opens and see if there are bars going vertically or horizontally through the window. If you have a sash window that slides up and down then the sash window will have a horizontal bar half way down the window. In this instance our vertical sliding secondary glazing can be made to match these windows - with the horizontal bar in the same place as that on the existing window. With the bars on both the existing and secondary windows aligned - the secondary glazing blends in with the existing window.
We have horizontally sliding units, vertical sliding units, lift out units, hinged units and fixed units - so that we can match any existing window.
Secondly - you will need to decide which of the three Secondary Glazing systems you require. Bearing in mind the fact that, certain styles are unavailable in some of our Secondary Glazing systems (for example: Our Tilt Back Vertical Slider is only available with our Luxury Subframe system). The three systems available are our Economy Odd Leg system, our Luxury Subframe system and our Heavy Duty system.
