The Property:

Situated 7 miles from York and 15 miles from Harrogate, the Vale of York is the gateway to Yorkshire. Cushioned between the Yorkshire Dales, Marston Lodge Farm is positioned in the heart of a private 3000 acre estate in the Vale of York, just outside Long Marston and Hutton Wandesley.

The farm buildings, consisting of The Granary, The Farmhouse and Dovecote Barn underwent a recent extensive renovation in order to convert them into luxury holiday houses.

The Requirement:

Due to sensitive planning restrictions the development required the retention of existing timber glazing to one of the properties.

As such the owners needed to ensure that new glazing to the remaining properties fully complied with conservation conditions and worked in harmony with the character of the buildings.

The Solution:

The local Council accepted the use of Marlin's thermally efficient and secure Alitherm 800 windows.

Door solutions with matching frame profiles were provided by Marlin using their Alitherm Plus range and a Visofold 1000 bifold door was specified for a wide-open access solution to recreational patio areas.
