The Property:

Set in one of the world’s Dark Skies Reserves, this very special cottage has been lovingly restored by owners Gemma and Simon who are continuing the legacy of famous master craftsman Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ of Kilburn making exquisite oak furniture. The eminent little mouse has been lovingly created in special pieces by Simon for the cottage and guests can also visit the workshop in the nearby village of Kilburn to see the master craftsmen at work.

 

The Requirement:

A very important prerequisite was the use of the slimmest possible metal frame work for all doors and windows. This was to ensure a sympathetic period solution to the renovation which aligned with other age related features that were being replicated throughout.

 

The Solution:

Our Heritage aluminium glazing system with narrow sightlines was specified throughout in an authentic RAL 9005 black powder coated finish. This satisfied the requirement for slim metal framework with the added benefit of thermal compliance, comfort and security for guests
